Artistic Theatre

Situated in the heart of the fashionable 11th arrondissement, the Artistic Theatre seems to have had several different existences: first a ‘caf’ conc’ (café concert, or concert café) in the 1900s, then a cabaret in the 1920s, it was transformed into a cinema in the 1930s. It only took its present form as a theatre during the 1980s.

As a place of cultural exchanges and host of several both French and foreign theatre companies, it is mostly known for its original contemporary programme and its reinvention of great classics that have remained unknown to the general public.
